ABOUT THE COMPANY

 

The idea of WineSight Technologies was born in January 2003 as a concept of Doug Frost MS, MW. But could it be done?

 

After numerous conversations with Project Manager Inez Pennington and Computer Programmer Don Erickson, the project commenced; a year-long journey of software development, data entry and testing.

 

Broad-minded enough to scrap systems that were too limited and bold enough to break new ground, the WineSight technical team combined talent, determination and perseverance to turn Frost's vision into a reality.

 

Wading through mountains of seemingly disparate data, Inez & Don brainstormed how to structure the wine information into a slick architecture, while wine master Doug could always point out many exceptions to every rule. The result was a powerful database accessible via Internet to technicians around the country to enter data from hand-selected wine lists.

 

Everyone using the system had access to each other's entries instantly, 24/7, to avoid duplication and confusion. The home team was able to catch errata as they occurred, and then run the numbers to create custom reports.

 

Summer 2004 produced the final run of data from the wine lists, and then Doug Frost patiently assessed all of the reports to write his insightful analyses of both the Independent and the Chain list data. Frost's extensive knowledge of wine and his expertise in the restaurant industry come together in a unique up-to-date look at the on-premise sector.
